“The gentlemen were professional. They got down to business shortly after arriving. The only disappointment was they did not reassemble my entertainment center and move it into place”
Most of our local work runs through the neighborhoods we grew up in: Highland Square and West Akron, Wallhaven, Firestone Park, Goodyear Heights, and out toward Merriman Valley. A lot of those homes are brick century houses with narrow staircases, deep front porches, and a street out front instead of a driveway. We have moved enough of them to know exactly how a couch turns on a tight landing.
You can book us two ways. Smaller jobs usually go hourly, billed in fifteen-minute increments after the first hour, with blankets, dollies, straps, and hand tools already in the truck. For a whole house, most folks prefer a flat band so the cost is locked before we arrive.
What an Akron local move runs
These are the bands we quote across Summit County. The hourly option is there when you would rather pay for the hours you actually use.
| Home size | Typical flat range |
|---|---|
| Studio | $300 – $500 |
| 1-bedroom | $500 – $820 |
| 2-bedroom | $860 – $1,360 |
| 3-bedroom | $1,450 – $2,250 |
| 4-bed house | $2,050 – $3,100 |
Prefer to pay by the hour? A 2-mover crew with a truck is $119/hr; a 3-mover crew is $159/hr. A $99 deposit locks your date and comes off the final total.
What the price does not cover
So the flat number stays honest, a few things sit outside the base move and we tell you up front, not at the curb:
- Packing materials and pack-up labor (that is our separate full-pack service, from $340).
- Long carries when the truck cannot get near the door — common on the no-driveway blocks off Copley Rd.
- Specialty items like a piano or a gun safe, from $329.
- Storage if your closing dates do not line up — from $45/month per vault.
Built for snow-belt move days
Northeast Ohio does not wait for good weather, so neither do we. We salt and tarp walkways, pad door frames, and shrink-wrap upholstery before anything crosses an icy porch in January. Our crews carry up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage per shipment, with $0.60/lb released-value standard and full-value protection available if you want it.
